Annual Jack Petchey Awards Ceremony
FEBRUARY 2025
“If you think you can, you can!”
The annual Jack Petchey Awards Ceremony which celebrates the achievements of inspirational young people between the ages of 11-25 in the local boroughs of Kensington & Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham and Westminster took place on Tuesday 25th February 2025 at the Great Town Hall in Kensington. Award winners representing schools and colleges in the boroughs were celebrated and their success was signified as they were honoured with a boxed gold medallion in front of audience of family, friends, peers and staff, in recognition for their many accomplishments.
Winners from St Charles were amongst those who had their successes publicly celebrated. They were Daniella Labuschagne Odendaal, Emilio Shtembari, Laurentiu (Adrian) Oros, Karina Shynkovych, Julia Farenholc-Kobylinska, Thomas Manoukian Khounegy, Jayden Dorant Murray, Kiren Phillips and Tinosh Rezvanpanesh Poshteh. They were each presented with their coveted Jack Petchey awards by the Director of Family’s and Children’s Services Kensington and Chelsea- Counsellor Catherine Faulks and all enjoyed the infamous Jack Petchey group photo on the night!
The presentations were a great source of joy and pride for the students and their guests. Their citations, which were read out as each student was presented with their medal, highlighted their incredible contributions in terms of leadership, teamwork, determination, commitment and flexibility within the College and the wider community. Jack Petchey Winners (January – June 2024)
Jack Petchey Winners - September to November 2024
The evening was a great success and all the students left feeling immensely proud in the company of their families and friends. St Charles Sixth Form staff present on the night; Jordan Macedo, Liz Lancaster, Rob Lamontagne, Sky Montique, Tania Begum, Jonathan Gyimah and myself as Jack Petchey coordinator for the college were equally proud. This prestigious award could not succeed without the support of all the staff and students from St Charles’ community who regularly nominate and support our winners and keep the Jack Petchey flag flying high in his memory!
A huge thanks to all our enthusiastic staff, including the college Principal Mr Twist and Vice Principal Colette Thomas, who have supported this award either through nominating students and/or helping celebrate their successes with them. Here's to another bumper year of wonderful nominations showcasing the amazing contributions St Charles' students make to the college and wider community.
