Why train to teach with us

At The Borromeo Training hub, we are passionate about inspiring young adults to learn in an environment that fosters progress and challenges them to invest in their academic and personal futures. Our aim is to provide Teacher training in Sixth Form Colleges across London, as a regional hub for Xavier Teach SouthEast.

The Borromeo Training Hub facilitates General Professional Studies and subject specific training weekly, at one of our partner Sixth Form Colleges.

We provide a unique Sixth Form experience to inspire the next generation and help to equip young people with the appropriate skills, qualifications and attributes to positively contribute to society. Trainee teachers will have secondary school experience on an ‘away placement’ throughout the year.

We always welcome people who want to discuss routes into teaching – we might be biased but we believe there is no better job than teaching young people and shaping the next generation! We would encourage anyone thinking of teaching to get in touch so that they can come to visit and find out more (SCITT Lead contact info).

We are proud to be a partner school of Xavier Teach SouthEast, a SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) provider working in and around our local area. Xavier Teach SouthEast provides all trainees with high quality training, in both primary and secondary settings, to enable them to develop into competent and confident professionals.

Trainees are well prepared through first-rate complementary placements which ensure that they gain substantial practical experience, developing their evaluative and practical teaching skills effectively. In-school expert mentors and external subject trainers have consistently high expectations and work collaboratively to ensure training is coherent and highly relevant to the needs of trainees.

Xavier Teach SouthEast have had two consecutive Outstanding judgements and are highly regarded in the local area; we love working with them and hope you will too.

For more information please call them on 01932 578 682

Through our partnership with a range of sixth form colleges across London, we offer a high quality, bespoke School Centered Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) programme.

All course pathways lead to the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Benefits of the Borromeo Training Hub

Our partnership of colleges and schools are all dedicated to developing outstanding teachers of tomorrow. We are guided by a commitment to doing what is right for the students in our partnership schools and what is right for our trainees. We pride ourselves on being a caring provider. It is this care that impacts everything we do – we nurture our trainees to discover their teaching potential.

High-quality training enables all trainees to develop into confident and competent professionals. Trainees are well prepared through first-rate placements which ensure that they gain substantial practical experience, developing their evaluative and practical teaching skills effectively. This is within a home school placement, four days a week, with the fifth day spent receiving General Professional Studies and subject specific training. In-school expert mentors and external subject trainers have consistently high expectations and work collaboratively to ensure training is coherent and highly relevant to the needs of trainees.

With the vast majority of our trainees going on to be employed and progressing their careers within our partnership of training colleges, there really is no better place to embark on your journey than with the Borromeo Training Hub.

You will have the opportunity to train in one of our highly innovative partner colleges who put students and their learning at the heart of everything they do.
