Exam Results 2023 - Letter from SFCA Chief Executive
It is with great excitement that we received the following letter from the Chief Executive of the Sixth Form Colleges Association, Bill Watkin, on our examination performance in 2023.
I write to send you, your colleagues, and your students many, many congratulations on the excellent examination results this summer. It is wonderful to see what is being achieved at St Charles, and I hope you are all feeling justifiably proud of the difference you are helping to make to the lives of young people.
I know that this sort of improvement does not just happen, but is the result of extraordinarily hard work and a relentless focus on high standards. Of course, the progress made by your students in the classroom also reflects the level of care and support that they receive throughout their time at the college beyond the classroom. This is very much a team effort and your successes are rightly shared by all at St Charles.
I hope that the new academic year has got off to a good start and look forward to seeing you soon.
Our Principal, Martin Twist, also affirmed:
This year was a record breaking year for St Charles’ students, and we are so proud of all they have achieved. Our A Level results place us in the top 25% of all Sixth Form colleges for student progress, and in comparison with the last set off official measures (2019), makes us the most improved college in the country. In a difficult year for students, we were delighted that St Charles bucked the trend of a dip in results and achieved the best set of results on record.
Well done to All the Staff and Students who have worked hard and dedicated themselves to improving their outcomes!
